Slow websites can be caused by many things:
- Server needs reconfiguring
- Plugins and Wordpress need updating
- Lots of resources to load (large images can be a big problem - here's how to optimise them)
- Issues with 3rd party scripts
- Not using caching
- Not using a Content Delivery Website (CDN)
- It could even be your Internet Service Provider
